Green Leafy Vegetables: If you think Popeye, ate spinach only to double his muscles, you might just be wrong. It is an exceptional source of vitamins A and C, which our body needs to produce Sebum - a natural hair conditioner, secreted by our hair follicles. They also provide iron and calcium. So the next time you ponder about salad dressing, soup ingredients and sandwich fillings think of seasonal leafy vegetables.
Poultry Products: These products carry high-quality protein, which ensures healthy hair. Insufficient proteins or bad-quality protein intake can result in fragile hair and greying. Poultry products also carry iron that has great digestive value, which means our body is not required to make extra efforts to reap benefits from the mineral. They also contain B-complex and vitamin B-12, which are important beauty nutrients.
Spices: Most of think that spices aren't good for health but a few of them like turmeric, cumin and black pepper are essential for healthy hair growth. For eg., Oregano is a strong antiseptic so it helps you get rid of dandruff and itchy scalp. Salt contains iodine which controls thyroid hormones and prevents hair loss.
TIP : Be watchful while using spices however. They are healthy only if you use them adequately.
Stay Hydrated: Do you know that one-fourth of the weight of a strand of hair is made of water? Water nourishes hair to make them look silky and shiny. To keep your body well hydrated, doctors recommend drinking at least six to eight ounce glasses of water every day.
Go for Fruits. Haven't we heard this from our grannies and moms? Apples, Berries, Musk Melons, Oranges, Grapes and Raisins help make our hair healthy by providing important minerals and vitamins, and keeping our body hydrated.
TIP : An easy way of ensuring a balanced diet is by eating at least one fruit daily from each of these color groups - red, green, orange and purple. Red fruits may include apples, strawberries and pomegranates. Green fruit choices are grapes, guava and custard apple. Orange fruits are peach, orange and mango. And purple coloured fruits include blackberries, plums and raisins.
Meat and Minerals: Meat and seafood have a high content of zinc and iron, which are proven to prevent hair loss. "To improve the natural color of your hair, include copper in your diet. Apart from vegetables and nuts, meat and liver are good sources of copper.
TIP : If your hair is dry and breaks easily, the reason might be deficiency of vital fatty acids. For strength and luster eat oily fish such as tuna and salmon.
Aisha - Love the fashion
In the past decade, Indian films have been increasingly associated with the fashion industry.
Now, comes Aisha - an Indian movie that promises to give glimpses of high street fashion in India and set a benchmark for Bollywood.
Budgeting 20 crore rupees the movie features brands like DLF Emporio, L’Oreal Paris and Portico...le sigh!.. .
the Dior association is visibly the strongest.
Its been said that the tie ups with the fashion brands took almost six months to work out before and during the scripting stage. Both Portico and L’Oreal have a number of TV commercials lined up that uses imaging from the film to promote their products. .. looks like Bollywood has a far wider impact and reach than anticipated before.

Beauty Trends that need to be dumped this fall
ICE THE FROST "I’d like to see the end of the frosty trend. I think frost, as a rule, should be avoided. So if you’ve got a frosty pink gloss or a frosty nail polish – not that there’s not an exception to the rule once in a while – but in general they aren’t flattering and they’re kind of dated looking to me. I don’t think it’s modern."
FRUMPY FRIZZIES Girls always want what they haven’t got, especially when it comes to hair. Brundage has noticed a trend of girls spending hours in the chair to achieve towering, frizzy tresses. “It’s a surprising trend that I’m not wild about.”
ROLLERS?! “I got a phone call not too long ago from a New York paper wanting me to comment on the trend of people wearing rollers in their hair. And I was like, ‘are you kidding?!’ They told me Reese Witherspoon was recently pictured with rollers in her hair, and I said, ‘I’m sorry, I just can’t go there.’” Smart woman.
DARK LIPLINER “I wrote a column recently on the biggest beauty blunders and one of them was girls who wear dark, dark lipliner,” remarks Brundage. “Or, girls that draw in these really overdone lips where we all know that those are not their real lips.” Yikes.
Having witnessed one too many beauty blunders, Brundage has observed that the truly chic and stunningly stylish woman understand something crucial: they only embrace trends that actually work for them. “What differentiates the “stylish” from the people who just try and never really succeed,” explains Brundage, “is that you want to embrace what works for you. So take a trend if you see a trend, and let’s say it’s dark nail polish, let’s say it’s red lips, whatever it is, if it doesn’t work for you, it’s not a good trend for you to embrace. Wait until the next season when something that will suit you better appears. You always kind of want to pick and choose based on what works for you. The most important thing is that you never want to embrace any kind of a trend that isn’t making you look fabulous – that isn’t embracing you back.”

In fact, it's a fun way to brighten up your monotonous look oe accessorise a special occasion outfit.

- Apply nail vanish remover even if you have no nail paint on. It helps remove dirt and grease so that your nail polish will last longer.
- Let your nail vanish dry properly. Give time for each layer to dry to ensure a lasting finish.
- You can match your nail colour with your apparel or lip colour to give a complete co-ordinated look.

- Always try to apply lots of thin layers rather than giving one quick layer. It not only dries quickly but also lasts for a longer time.
- Make sure each coat is dry before applying the next. Never mix colours together before application since it can give a messy look to your nails.
- If you love wearing rings, wear cool and aatractive ones as your nails will attract attention to your hands so do dress them up a bit!
- Nail piercing can give a trendy look to your nails, but it can also weaken the nails.
- Nail piercing could, and preferably be done on the upper portion of a long nail so that the hole could be filed away without losing much length.
- Choose a remover with built-in moisturisers that will limit the damage.
- Always keep your nails clean as it reduces the chances of nail breakage by keeping healthy.
- Also do not clean your mails with hot water.
- If you have long nails try painting the underside with a contrasting colour and paint the upper part with light coat.

- When polishing the underside of the nail, avoid polishing the area the nail and the skin meet.
- You can also use fake tattoos for giving a funky look to your nails.
Make sure you maintain your nails properly; as proper maintenance will help keep your nails in good condition for a longer period.

Style on a Budget

Don't let your limited budget limit your style. There a quite are few things you can do to keep your look fresh even when you need to be wise with your wardrobe dollars.
Here's how :
1. Wear more color
A great way to liven up your look is to incorporate more color into your wardrobe. Perhaps this is just a matter of wearing a brightly colored t-shirt under a v-neck sweater, or sporting a new shirt or sweater. Adding color will liven up otherwise dull neutral tones. But the most important thing is to wear color near your face since that is where it will have the most impact and keep you from looking washed out.
Note: Whether you are on a budget or not, shopping sales is just a smart thing to do. If you want to pick up a new shirt, sweater etc., you don't have to wait long for any number of retailers to have a sale. Just keep your eyes peeled.
2. Seek Out a New Pair of Glasses/Sunglasses
I have worn glasses since I was 2 years old. This is one area where I allow myself to spend a little money in order to get the best looking glasses I can find. After all, it’s my face! Glasses are a great way to express yourself too. The interesting thing about glasses is that you could simply be wearing jeans and a t-shirt, but with the right glasses you suddenly look fashion savvy. Like me, you may want to have a couple of pair--one pair that is bold and one that is more subdued. This way you can match your glasses with your mood or outfit.
Note: If you don’t wear glasses, then make it sunglasses. Cool shades are always a good thing and we all know how they are one of the ultimate fashion accessories.
3. Treat Yourself to One or Two Super Pieces
If you can possibly afford it, I believe in buying one or two great pieces that will really keep you looking stylish. This may be a cool sport coat, a leather jacket or an awesome pair of jeans that really show off your assets. What ever it is, make sure it’s something that you know you will wear often and is flattering. I just bought a moleskin sport coat that was a bit expensive, but it looks great and I know I will get a lot of use out of it.
4. Sport a Snappy Belt
I also just bought a really cool belt with a big buckle that I know will be a show stopper. You may have noticed that recently elaborate belts with interesting buckles have become quite the fashion statement. And they can be quite inexpensive as well.
5. Avoid Tattered Looking Shoes
A tattered pair of shoes is always a turn off. I don’t care if you wear dress shoes or sneakers, keep ‘em looking their best. This may just mean getting a shoe shine or picking up a new pair altogether.
6. Get a Groovy watch
I have a friend who has a thing for watches. He likes to match them with what he is wearing, and he doesn’t spend a lot of money on them either. Since men don’t have many options when it comes to jewelry, this is a great way to express yourself as well as liven up your look.
